Today I watched the newest Monkee disc that came to me in the mail from Netflix. Two of the episodes, Card Carrying Red Shoes and Hitting The High Seas had little or no Mike, which made me sad. He was hardly in A Coffin Too Frequent. I know that Davy explained he was at his sister's wedding, which was why he was completely absent from one episode. Did something happen to Mike at that time?

I'm not sure about Card Carrying Red Shoes ( that may have been when he had his tonsils out) but in Hitting the High Seas-- he got sea sick!

Really? I thought it was a plot thing, but then wondered why he didn't appear at all. That makes sense.

Yeah, I believe I read about it in the monkees day to day book and Peter also mentions something about it in the season 2 dvd set. They were also going to buy the boat that the episode was filmed on, but it sank before they could.

I'll be checking out the Monkees day to day book from the library, it sounds very good.

I'll be checking out the Monkees day to day book from the library, it sounds very good. The book is very informative and I highly recommend it to any die -hard monkee fan. Andrew Sandoval did an incredible job. Oh and I messed up on the title it's " The monkees day by day "

I think the tonsils thing was in "I Was a 99lbs Weakling" because I seem to remember them saying that it happened between seasons so when they came to start Season 2, it was with his "new voice". But "Hitting the High Seas" was definitely due to sea sickness, I remember hearing that and I think "Card Carrying Red Shoes" might possibly have been when Jonathan was born. But don't quote me on that!
And I, too, highly recommend the Monkees Day by Day book, it is really interesting.

Wasn't there an episode he wasn't in because he had an issue with the director or script or something?
I may be wrong on that

Apparently in Card Carrying Red Shoes Mike didn't want to take part due to 'creative differences', he was sea sick for Hitting The High Seas, and was having a tonsillectomy in, maybe, Monkees watch their feet.

I don't know why Mike didn't on "Card Carrying Red Shoes" and " Hitting The High Seas ".
But imagine when he was in Hitting The High Seas ".
sea sick Mike. Weak, with blue face, and lying limp, a groaning Mike Draw a greasy sweat.
So cute. Heh - heh ^ ^

Aww, poor Mike. I always did wonder why his voice changed. I like his old voice better with the thick accent :c but I'm used to both.
